Motorbike care instructions

Our tutorials for cleaning, polishing and sealing gloss and matt paintwork on motorbikes.

Instructions for cleaning & caring for your motorbike

High-pressure cleaning & hand washing

  1. Use a high-pressure cleaner to remove coarse dirt and
contamination from the vehicle. Do not use a high-pressure cleaner
directly on sensitive parts such as bearings, seals or electronics.
Maintain a minimum distance of 50 cm and adjust the strength of the
    water jet accordingly.
  2. Spray SWISSVAX Supreme Motorcycle Cleaner
onto the cold, dry surface, spread the cleaner with a brush and leave
it to work for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gently rinse the vehicle again with
the high-pressure cleaner and clean the motorcycle with SWISSVAX Bike
Bath and a SWISSVAX washing poodle with water. It is recommended to use
the dual-wash system: one bucket with clear water to be able to rinse
the wash poodle again and again and one bucket with Bike Bath.
  4. Finally, rinse the vehicle thoroughly with clear water. Then dry carefully with an Ultra-Dry microfiber cloth.

Hand polish & wax

  1. Clean the paint surface thoroughly and dry it completely as described under hand washing.
  2. Apply SWISSVAX Cleaner Fluid with a polishing sponge in horizontal or vertical movements to remove fine scratches.
  3. After wiping with a SWISSVAX MicroFluffy, you can apply a thin layer of Bike Sheen Wax with an applicator, allow the wax to harden for approx. 10-15 minutes and then polish to a high gloss with a clean SWISSVAX MicroFluffy. Avoid applying too much pressure.

Optional: You can additionally seal the wax layer on your vehicle with Lotos Speed or optionally with Keramiq9.

Rim cleaning

  1. Clean the rims of coarse dirt with a high-pressure cleaner.
  2. Spray the cold rims with SWISSVAX Wheel Cleaner or Wheel Spray Forte.
    Leave
the product to work for 1-2 minutes. Use a soft rim brush to distribute
the cleaner and remove dirt and brake dust. The SWISSVAX Wheel Spray
Forte cleaner turns purple and thus shows its cleaning effect.
  3. Rinse the rims thoroughly with clear water and dry them with a SWISSVAX Ultra-Dry.

Optional: Protect the rims afterwards with SWISSVAX Autobahn Wax for easier future cleaning.

Cleaning the matt paint by hand

  1. Use a high-pressure cleaner to remove coarse dirt and
contamination from the vehicle. Do not use a high-pressure cleaner
directly on sensitive parts such as bearings, seals or electronics. Keep
a minimum distance of 50 cm and regulate the strength of the water jet
    accordingly.
  2. Spray SWISSVAX Supreme Motorcycle Cleaner onto the
cold, dry surface, spread the cleaner with a brush and leave it to work
    for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gently rinse the vehicle again with the high-pressure cleaner.
  4. Clean
the motorcycle with SWISSVAX Motorcycle Wash Opaque and a SWISSVAX wash
poodle with water. It is recommended to use the dual-wash system: one
bucket with clear water to be able to wash out the wash poodle again and
again and one bucket with Wash Opaque and finally rinse the vehicle
    thoroughly with clear water.
  5. Then dry carefully with an Ultra-Dry microfiber cloth.

Pre-treatment & wax for matt paints

  1. Clean the matt paint with SWISSVAX Opaque Pre-Cleaner to remove impurities and traces of oil.
  2. Apply a thin layer of SWISSVAX Opaque Wax with an applicator.
  3. Do not allow the wax to harden and polish gently with a microfiber cloth - avoid too much pressure.

Optional: You can additionally seal the wax layer on your vehicle with Lotos Speed or optionally with Keramiq9.
